Local MSP, Derek Mackay, has welcomed the announcement from the Big Lottery Fund announcement of 2 awards that have recently been granted in the Renfrewshire North and West constituency.  The awards totalling £14,627, have been awarded to Gallowhill Primary School for outdoor play equipment and Brighter Bridge of Weir for installing planters and barrier baskets to improve the image of the village.


Congratulating the groups, Mr Mackay said:

“The recent announcement of these awards from the Big Lottery Fund is fantastic news, and I would like to congratulate the groups on securing this much sought after funding, which I know will go a long way to helping benefit the community.

“It’s great to see so many groups coming forward with the aim of making a big difference to their local communities and I would encourage other groups who think that they fit the criteria to apply also.”


Details of awards:


Gallowhill Primary School received an award of  £4,627 for outdoor play equipment. The project will encourage more children to become, and stay, active during and after school.

Brighter Bridge of Weir received an award of £10,000 to will improve the image of its village and encourage civic pride by installing planters and barrier baskets, and purchasing festive lights.
