Mackay Welcomes Local Post Office Funding
Local SNP MSP Derek Mackay has welcomed the announcement that Moorpark Post Office on Porterfield Road, Renfrew has been awarded just under £25 000 from the Scottish Government's Post Office Diversification Fund. The money is to be used for repairs, a car park and business advice.£1 million in allocations was awarded to 48 Scottish Post Offices to help to support business activities. The Fund, which recognises the vital role that post offices can play in supporting communities, awarded up to £25,000 to 48 post offices in 24 areas.
Commenting Mr Mackay said:
"Post Office branches throughout Scotland provide a vital service to every community and to the Scottish economy as a whole.
“The money that has been received by the Moorpark Post Office will help to support staff as they take forward their plans to improve the facility and help to safeguard the future of the post office within the local community.
“I congratulate the team for applying for this fund and being successful and look forward to visiting again once works have begun.”
